The Catalan rider Astrid Fina Repeats silver in the IPC 2019 World Cup of para-snowboard of La Molina

The Barcelona rider returns to the second step of the podium in the SBLL2 category, behind the Dutch Lisa Bunschoten. His compatriot Renske Van Beek finished third.

With today's day, the two snowboard cross races of the IPC 2019 World Cup para-snowboard that is held in La Molina ends. On Thursday 7 and Friday 8 there will be a banked slalom at the Solell track in Torrent Negre.

The rider Astrid Fina rises again to the podium in the second day of the IPC 2019 World Cup para-snowboard, competition that is being played in La Molina from March 4 to 8. The Catalan woman wins the silver medal in the snowboard cross category in the SBLL2 category (athletes with tibial amputation). The rest of the podium is formed by the Dutch Lisa Bunschoten and Renske Van Beek, who finish 1st and 3rd, respectively.


As for the rest of the Spanish riders, Xabier Osa finished 10th in the UL1 category and Victor Manuel Gonzalez finished 7th in the LL1 category.


The day of Tuesday 5 has had the participation of 34 riders (7 women and 27 men). In total, 12 countries have registered: Germany (3), Australia (3), Austria (3), Canada (2), Croatia (1), Spain (3), United States (6), France (3), Great Britain (2), Italy (3), Norway (1) and the Netherlands (4).


The snowboard cross is the modality that is played in a circuit designed with jumps, dubbies and banked and interlaced curves that put the runner to the test throughout the descent. The mechanics of the test is as follows: first an initial classification is made. Next, the fastest runners must compete in a head-to-head format to get to the podium and take the medals.

The snowboard cross competition has played on the track. On Thursday 7 and Friday 8 will be held the exciting banked slalom IPC on the Solell track of Torrent Negre.


The banked slalom, which premiered in La Molina in 2015, is a modality that was born in the United States. It consists of going down in slalom through a track in the form of "U" along a path of between 500 and 900 meters of irregular terrain full of dubbies naturally present on the track.
