The event will take place on 9 and 10 February and will be scoring for the Spanish Cup CIT (Citizens) of alpine skiing in slalom and giant modalities. This competition seeks to encourage young skiers who are still linked to the world of sports as long as possible.
La Molina shows once again its commitment to the promotion of winter sports and high level competitions. The weekend of 9 and 10 February, will host, one more year, the already traditional ALWC Citizens International Derby, which this year reaches its 38th edition. It is one of the oldest races in the European calendar for this category.
The test, in addition, coincides with the second stage of the Cup of Spain CIT (Citizens) of alpine skiing, both for the male and female category. Therefore, the race will be scoring for the two competitions: the CIT test and the Arnold Lunn World Cup (ALWC) competition.
The competition will be held at the Solell stadium in La Molina, at 9:00 h with the recognition of the slopes and at 10:00 h with the start of the first corridor. On Saturday will take place the giant and Sunday slalom test.
The tests, organized by the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation (RFEDI), the Federació Catalana d'Esports d'Hivern (FCEH), the La Molina station and La Molina Club d'Esports (LMCE), will have a large number of participants.
Spanish Cup CIT
Throughout its history, La Molina has hosted up to 9 events of the Spanish Cup CIT, a test that was born with the aim of promoting this category formed by junior and senior athletes who are not part of the National Teams or recognized Technification Centers by the Higher Sports Council (CSD). In this sense, then, it is intended to encourage young athletes to continue linked to winter sports for as long as possible.
