The first edition of the women's stage test of the Volta a Catalunya gives continuity to the commitment to women's cycling of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya Sports Association, after four editions of the reVolta.


The race is born with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya through Esportcat and the Secretaria General de l’Esport i l’Activitat Física, thanks to its "Entre totes, tot" program to boost women's sports in Catalonia.


STAGE 2: URGELL HEADQUARTERS - LA MOLINA

Keeping the identity of the Volta a Catalunya intact, the women's event will have a real high mountain challenge that is expected to be decisive for the resolution of the general classification.

Starting at another historic site of the race such as La Seu d'Urgell, the second stage will have two first-class stages such as the grueling Collada de Toses and the high-altitude finish of La Molina, which will host the finish line. A demanding route ideal to see the best climbers of the international rider fighting for victory in a resort that has hosted stages of the men's Tour on eight occasions in recent years.
